1 structure design

[Common sense]Today, LED display are mainly divided into: full color display series,  EMC display series, rental display series, traffic guidance screen series, energy-saving display series, stadium display series, customized series.
With the rapid development of internet information technology, advertising media are having more attention of the society gradually. Because of LED display’s high brightness, low working voltage, low power consumption, large scale, long lifespan, varieties and other characteristics, are widely used in stadiums, city and public square, traffic, enterprise image promotion, business advertising and other applications.
In the vigorous development of LED display industry today, incidents frequently caused by LED display have caught the wide attention of the society.
Fire accident review:
In September 24th, 2011, a big LED screen collapsed from the stage of Wenzhou Shangri-La Grand Hotel.
In September 24th, 2011, a main LED screen of Guangzhou new library, which faces the Flower city square, suddenly went on fire.
In December 16th, 2011, a LED screen at Cade shopping centre on Xi zhi men Plaza went on fire.
In December 29th, 2011, a LED screen on Yue qing City Traffic Building in Zhejiang Province Went on fire suddenly.
In April 23rd, 2012, a LED screen on top of the Harbour Grand Hotels in Hong Kong went on fire.

Fire accident analysis:
As a kind of new environment friendly and energy-saving high-tech green product, LED Display is very popular and has become cities’ indoor and outdoor advertising’s highlights with its superior visual sensory properties. So what are the factors that lead to a fire incident, above all, display manufacturers and owners should bear the corresponding liability.
Product’s bad quality, the effect of external environment and the mistake of manual operation, are the causes of fire. Secondly, when owners purchase products, low price is often placed in the first place, and neglect the quality of products. This makes some manufacturer have to cut the purchasing cost to save the production cost in order to meet the customers’ requirement on low price, thus left a risk of fire happening.
Fire technique analysis:
To analyze from the professional perspective, Dicolor optoelectronics think that the main factors that caused the fire are the following:
1. Improper use of power supply switch. Manufacturers don’t use the right power supply switch that can meet the actual required rated power switching power supply. When the actual load exceeds the rated power of the switch, power supply switch load is too large, thus resulting in power supply switch burnt out and cause fire of the LED screen.
2. Use of unqualified outer protective structure material on the LED screen. The protective structure material’s fire resistance, fire retardant, aging resistance does not meet safety standards.
3. Cabinets wiring. Cabinets wiring does not meet the standard requirement, does not meet the wiring principle, and leave hidden safety problems.
4. Power supply wiring. Distribution of power supply between modules is not balanced in DC power supply system. Distribution of power supply is not balanced in AC power supply system. These are the potential causes of the fire.
5. LED lamp selections. Always focusing on the requirement of the high brightness of the LED screen, leads to the aging of materials, and then reduces the lifespan of screen, thus caused the materials on fire.
Note: When Dicolor Optoelectronics chooses the LED lamp, we keep a balance of 20%, so as to reduce the current of module made under this design. (Current of P16 static module is around 7~8A, average current of video is about 2~3A), products are made with high stability, high efficiency, and energy saving.
6. LED brightness ratio: When some manufacturers choose the LED RGB color selection, they do not follow the principle of 3:6:1. Many manufacturers use small size LED chip in order to reduce the procurement cost of raw materials. This lead to the improvement of LED current for each single module in order to reach the white balance, and this will no doubt increase the temperature of some part of module. When part of module temperature is rising, and there is no good solution to dissipate heat, the module will show result of inconsistent brightness, and will finally cause fire as the aging of materials after long-time use.
7. Kit. Kit materials do not reach the fire retardant standard listed under<UL94V0>.
8. Glue Dispensing. Glue does not meet the standard fire retardant requirement listed under <UL E325549 V0>.
9. Wire. Wire is not selected according to National Standard. Wire wrapping material does not pass standard fire retardant requirement of <IEC 60332>.
Note: The wire core size chosen by Dicolor Optoelectronics is decided by a strict calculation at the beginning of design. To meet the practical needs, meanwhile keep sufficient margin in actual use.
10. Key components. When used for a long time, the temperature of key components can not be maintained at a reasonable level.
Matters needed to be noticed during installation and use:
1. During the installation process, LED screen body and the connecting part between LED screen body and building must be strictly leak-proof and waterproof;
2. The reasonable installation of ventilation equipment for cooling. So as to keep the screen body at a temperature of -10 ~ 40 . Use axial flow fan behind the screen body at the top to dissipate heat.
3. The correct installation of lightning protection device. Make sure the LED display screen main body and the building enclosure grounded to earth. Thus to let go the large current caused by lightning.
4. The fault wiring of power supply wire during installation. For example, three-phase electric mix, zero and fire wire mix, strong electric directly connected to the weak electric.
5. Strictly follow the LED display using instruction. Such as first boot the IPC, and then switch on the screen; first close the screen, and then shutdown the IPC.
6. Avoid switching on the LED screen under white balance or screen out of control. Because the system impact current is at the highest point under these condition.
7. Make sure to have professionals to check and maintain the LED display regularly.

5.1 Analysis of 13500nits brightness
For mainland China's natural environment, the outdoor full color LED display screen brightness only need to reach 5000nits ( CD/m2) above, thus it can meet the market demands, this is because of mainland China's outdoor sun light intensity are not the strongest. If a piece of outdoor full color LED display screen needed to be installed near the equator, then the brightness of the display must reach 10000nits above, and that would be more appropriate, because the strong sun light at the earth equator requires the brightness of the display to achieve so high!
5.2 brightness higher than 10000nits means high energy consumption and short life
The LED luminous tube is what we commonly known as the LED lamp; the brightness of the LED lamp depends on the magnitude of the current supplied to the LED lamp. With the same LED lamp, the higher current applied in it, the higher brightness it gives out, Rated current of LED lamp is 20 MA, some irresponsible display manufacturers use poor quality and low brightness LED lamp but also hope to produce the display with a high brightness, the most direct way is increase the supply of current to the LED even more than20 MA in production, But this result in the high energy consumptions of the LED lamp. At the same time, because of the large current leads to high work load, these LED lamps appears to light attenuation faster, the entire screen life can be shorten. It seems like a person running at the speed of 100 meters of sprint running, within just a few seconds this man won’t be able to continue running, but if he runs slowly, he could run for several hours.
5.3an inaccurate or wrong concept
Many people know that, through the operation of LED display of the broadcast control software, we can set the entire screen brightness value. So some people will say, I produced the display with a brightness of the entire screen up to 10000nits above, but the daily use of the brightness of the entire screen down to 6000nits use, until a year later I put up the brightness of the entire screen, so in order to save energy and extend the life of the screen.
The above statement is inaccurate, even in a sense is the wrong approach! Not practical! Below we give a simple example to prove it:
Suppose now use a LED lamp to produce a LED display screen, when supplying LED light with a current of 8 Ma, a lamp can give out 7500nits of the brightness of the entire screen, this fully meet the requirements of outdoor. But now when increasing current value from 8Ma to 20 MA, the brightness of the entire screen can be extended from 7500up to 13500nits!
The current value of the brightness of the entire screen size and the relationship between the levels is such! The next step is to decide, the display of the brightness of the entire screen, want the7500nits or 13500nits? The answer to this question is determined, display manufacturers before mass-production, through repeated testing power supply circuit using resistor values, and thus change the current value, finally realize the predetermined value of the brightness of the entire screen!
Simple explaining: the production of a13500nits brightness of the display screen, every moment the screen is powered on bright, LED lamp are supplied with a current value which is identified as a numerical value, such as20 MA. If the same LED lamp produces a 7500nits brightness of the display, so every moment the screen is powered on bright, LED lamp are supplied with a current value is determined by the 8 ma.
At that time some people will ask: 13500nits brightness, when using it we will adjust the brightness to 7500nit, can this reduce the current and power saving?
The above statement is inaccurate! Through broadcast control software, we decrease the brightness of the display from the 13500nits is reduced to 7500nits, and it does not decrease current value, the current value is not changed! When the screen was powered on in the brightest moment, LED lamps are supplied with a current value as huge as 20 MA! The above operation just change the running time of display between High brightness and low brightness. That is to say when the13500nits is reduced to 7500nits, just the high brightness time of screen is short, and the time of low brightness is long! Here is the "on" and" off" is frequently appear alternately, they switch between frequency, has exceeded the eyes' recognition level, so we see the screen is working, the brightness is down, but in fact every time the screen power on there is a short time of brightness reach to13500nits, just it is very short!
The above approach we said that it is not good! Why is it not good? Let take the example of people running: suppose there is a running game, the rules of the game are: requires running speed not slower than 10 kilometers per hour, let’s see who ran a longer time? Then someone have two choices:
(1) the first choice is: using uniform speeds of 12 kilometers per hour, managed to keep it up;
(2) Second choices: 60kilometers per hour speed rush, just punch1 second and then stop, and then repeat the step again and again.
Through this example, we can understand which person that race more appropriate? The same, a LED lamp needs only a very small current can reach 7500nits brightness, why supply it with large current to 13500nits brightness, but when in using, just keep at 7500nits? Why is this?
In the example above, we want to prove that: when using high brightness LED lamp to produce outdoor full-color display, as long as the brightness of the entire screen reach the outdoor requirements, then it is already enough, only by this can we ensure to supply the minimum current to the LED lamp! While the low current is the science method of reducing of light losing and extending screen life!
5.4 low brightness energy-saving schemes is the key
Dicolor Optoelectonics recommends energy saving scheme of low brightness! Products made by step from the LED luminous tube selection, selection of drive IC, PCB circuit design, switching power supply selection, selection of heat dissipating scheme for control system, and these are the six major aspects where we apply energy saving scheme with matched design.
Product of Energy saving scheme, its default full screen brightness value can reach 13500nits, and meanwhile LED luminous tube are supplied with a current value less than the rated current of 20mA! But when we are developing the energy saving scheme for the screen, we will set the default brightness of the screen from 13500nits to 7000nits, this is because: first, 7000nits completely meet the needs of mainland China Daily outdoor brightness demand, and then, decrease the default current value of LED lamp when working, and set the LED lamp which should have been able to give out 13500nits brightness with a replacement of 7000nits brightness, this can significantly improve the LED luminous tube service life, and can greatly reduce the consuming electricity needed daily during work, thus this makes energy saving scheme Dicolor Led Display’s rated power is less than 500W per square meter, the average power consumption is only about 100W!
General speaking,
LED display manufacturers should have the spirit of integrity, responsible attitude to research product and develop market!
Must not be arrogant, not to play tricks! Not to destruct the market just in order to win over the masses’ attention, or just a gimmick, simply because the customers do not know this kind of industrial product. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.





5:2 我保罗告诉你们,若受割礼,基督就与你们无益了。

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.





5:3 我再指着凡受割礼的人确实的说,他是欠着行全律法的债。

For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.





5:4 你们这要靠律法称义的,是与基督隔绝,从恩典中坠落了。

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.





5:5 我们靠着圣灵,凭着信心,等候所盼望的义。

For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.





5:6 原来在基督耶稣里,受割礼不受割礼,全无功效。惟独使人生发仁爱的信心,才有功效。

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.





5:7 你们向来跑得好。有谁拦阻你们,叫你们不顺从真理呢。

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?





5:8 这样的劝导,不是出于那召你们的。

This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.





5:9 一点面酵能使全团都发起来。

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.





5:10 我在主里很信你们必不怀别样的心,但搅扰你们的,无论是谁,必担当他的罪名。

I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.





5:11 弟兄们,我若仍旧传割礼,为什么还受逼迫呢。若是这样,那十字架讨厌的地方就没有了。

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.





5:12 恨不得那搅乱你们的人,把自己割绝了。

I would they were even cut off which trouble you.





5:13 弟兄们,你们蒙召,是要得自由。只是不可将你们的自由当作放纵情欲的机会。总要用爱心互相服事。

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.





5:14 因为全律法都包在爱人如己这一句话之内了。

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.





5:15 你们要谨慎。若相咬相吞,只怕要彼此消灭了。

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.





5:16 我说,你们当顺着圣灵而行,就不放纵肉体的情欲了。

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.





5:17 因为情欲和圣灵相争,圣灵和情欲相争。这两个是彼此相敌,使你们不能作所愿意作的。

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.





5:18 但你们若被圣灵引导,就不在律法以下。

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.





5:19 情欲的事,都是显而易见的。就如奸淫,污秽,邪荡,

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,





5:20 拜偶像,邪术,仇恨,争竞,忌恨,恼怒,结党,纷争,异端,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,





5:21 嫉妒,(有古卷在此有凶杀二字)醉酒,荒宴等类,我从前告诉你们,现在又告诉你们,行这样事的人,必不能承受神的国。

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.





5:22 圣灵所结的果子,就是仁爱,喜乐,和平,忍耐,恩慈,良善,信实,

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,





5:23 温柔,节制。这样的事,没有律法禁止。

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.





5:24 凡属基督耶稣的人,是已经把肉体,连肉体的邪情私欲,同钉在十字架上了。

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.





5:25 我们若是靠圣灵得生,就当靠圣灵行事。

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.





5:26 不要贪图虚名,彼此惹气,互相嫉妒。

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
